The project

HalloFoto! is an intercultural photo project for girls from refugee families and German-speaking girls (with and without a migrant background). It arose from an initiative by the linguist Dr. Lidia Cámara de la Fuente and the photographer Peter Lindemann.

The girls - 50% from refugee families, 50% German-speaking girls - attend a multi-part workshop in which, among other things, portrait photos are taken under professional guidance, which are then exhibited publicly in urban spaces.

The first workshop was held between November 2015 and February 2016 with 22 participants from 10 nations. The resulting photos were exhibited throughout the city as of June in large format and in a mobile way with the collaboration of the Cologne transport services, inspired by the global photo project InsideOut.

Hallo Foto! Bye bye prejudice!
